Home to some of Australia’s largest iron ore miners, Port Hedland experienced unprecedented population growth between 2009 and 2012 as major iron ore mine expansion projects were undertaken and the town experienced major undersupply of residentially-zoned land due to Native Title and storm surge flooding constraints on land in the region.
The rezoning comprised a 2.5ha and 7.5ha property located in East Port Hedland, close to the coast, shops and schools. The land was located within an odour exclusion zone of a sewer treatment plant. Vantage Property worked with the local and state government authorities and arranged a major relocation of the sewer treatment plant, resolved flooding impacts; designed sewer, water and power connections for the land and secured rezoning plus Development Plan approvals for the development.
